Reduce Pain and Cosmetic Issues Quickly
Whether you’re dealing with sudden dental pain or long-term cosmetic concerns, CEREC crowns offer a fast and reliable solution. Crowns are commonly used to treat teeth that are cracked, weakened, severely decayed, or misshapen. They also protect teeth following root canal therapy or support a dental bridge.
Traditionally, getting a crown meant multiple visits, temporary restorations, and weeks of waiting. With CEREC technology, Dr. Martin can design, mill, and place your custom crown in just one appointment.
What Are the Benefits of Same-Day Crowns?
Same-day crowns have more than just the benefit of speed. Here are some of the reasons our patients love our same-day crown technology:
- No More Dental Impressions | Instead of using traditional dental impressions that require you to place a messy putty in your mouth, CEREC uses a 3D scanner. This means that you won’t have to deal with the often uncomfortable process of dental impressions.
- Same-Day Treatment | CEREC crowns can be manufactured by Dr. Martin in just a few minutes once your teeth have been scanned. The process is fast, easy, and convenient for patients and gives you more time to do the things you love.
- No Temporary Crowns Required | Traditional crowns must be made in a lab, which can take up to 2-3 weeks. While you wait, you’ll need to wear a temporary crown to protect your tooth, which can be quite uncomfortable. With CEREC, this is no longer necessary!
- Preserve More of Your Natural Tooth | CEREC gives Dr. Martin greater precision when sculpting your crown and removing enamel from your natural tooth. In turn, this ensures that more of your natural tooth is preserved.
- Faster Dental Emergency Relief | This same-day capability is especially valuable during dental emergencies, when you need to restore function and relieve discomfort immediately. CEREC crowns not only reduce pain quickly but also restore your smile’s appearance and strength without delay.
Whether you’re addressing a sudden fracture or completing a long-awaited cosmetic upgrade, CEREC crowns let you walk out with a fully restored smile the same day you walk in.
Don’t Put Off Getting a Crown!
Putting off a dental crown might seem harmless, especially if your tooth doesn’t hurt all the time. But delaying treatment can lead to bigger problems down the line. Teeth that are cracked, weakened, or have large fillings are vulnerable to further damage—and without a crown to protect them, they can fracture beyond repair. What starts as a small issue could eventually require a root canal or even an extraction.
However, same-day dental crowns make it much easier for you to mitigate harm without taking time out of your schedule. If you have been wondering about getting a crown for cosmetic or oral health reasons, you can reach out for a consultation and get a crown quickly. Call our office for quick treatment!
Custom and Durable
One of the standout benefits of same-day crowns is that they’re designed specifically for your smile. Using digital impressions and advanced milling technology, Dr. Martin creates crowns that are completely customized to match the color, shape, and bite of your natural teeth. This means your restoration will blend seamlessly with the rest of your smile.
But these crowns aren’t just about looks, they’re built to last. Crafted from high-quality ceramic materials, same-day crowns offer exceptional strength and durability. Whether you’re restoring a molar that takes on daily chewing force or a front tooth in your smile line, your crown is designed to hold up for years with proper care. At James Martin, DMD, you don’t have to choose between convenience and quality. Our CEREC crowns offer both.
How do Same-Day Crowns Work?
1. Digital Scans
The process starts with a pleasant greeting from our lovely receptionist at the James Martin DMD office. Once comfortably in the dental chair, Dr. Martin will take a digital scan of your teeth and mouth. This modern, 3D imaging technology eliminates the need for messy impressions because it works in conjunction with our CEREC machine. Through this advanced technology, the 3D scan is converted to a model that will become your new ceramic crown.
2. Crown Placement
Your mouth will be cleaned and numbed, and a small amount of enamel will be removed from your tooth to prepare it for crown placement.
Dr. Martin will then create a customized dental crown, which will be milled by the machine in just a few minutes. After this, he will check the crown to make sure that it fits properly and make minor adjustments if necessary. Then, he will cement the crown into place permanently. You’ll leave our office with a refreshed smile in just 1–2 hours!
Versatile Treatment Options Using the CEREC Machine

CEREC same-day crowns are by far the most popular treatment that the technology is used for. However, CEREC can be used for much more than just dental crowns. Some types of CEREC blocks can be used to make partial crowns, inlays and onlays, and veneers. Using CEREC, these procedures can be completed in just a single appointment, giving patients the option to restore and improve their smiles quickly, without waiting for multiple appointments or lab-made restorations.
Pairing Same-Day Crowns with Implants for a Faster, Stronger Smile
Dental implants are one of the most reliable ways to replace missing teeth—and when paired with same-day crowns, the process becomes even more efficient. Traditionally, patients have to wait weeks or even months between implant placement and receiving their final crown. But with Dr. Martin’s advanced digital workflow, we can often design and place a custom ceramic crown the very same day your implant is ready to be restored.
This approach doesn’t just save time, it enhances your experience. You get:
- Immediate Results | Walk out with a complete, natural-looking smile in fewer visits.
- Precise Fit | Digital impressions ensure your crown fits seamlessly with your implant and surrounding teeth.
- Durable Materials | Same-day crowns are milled from high-quality ceramic, built to withstand daily use.
- Streamlined Recovery | Reducing the number of appointments helps simplify your healing process and minimizes disruption to your routine.
If you’re considering dental implants, ask Dr. Martin how same-day crowns can help you restore your smile faster without sacrificing quality.
Root Canal Protection
After a root canal, it’s important to protect the tooth quickly to prevent further damage or reinfection. With CEREC technology, Dr. Martin can place a permanent crown the very same day, so you don’t have to wait weeks wearing a temporary crown. You leave your appointment with your tooth fully restored and protected.
Why Choose Ceramic Crowns?
When it comes to dental restorations, ceramic crowns offer the ideal combination of strength, beauty, and biocompatibility. At James Martin, DMD, we use advanced ceramic materials to craft same-day crowns that look and feel just like natural teeth—while standing up to everyday wear. Whether you need to restore a broken tooth or protect one after a root canal, ceramic crowns provide long-term results you can trust.
Here’s why ceramic crowns are often the preferred choice:
- Natural Appearance | Ceramic mimics the translucency and color of natural enamel, so your crown blends seamlessly with your smile.
- Stain Resistance | Unlike resin-based materials, ceramic is highly resistant to staining from coffee, wine, or everyday foods.
- Metal-Free | Ceramic crowns are a great option for patients with metal allergies or sensitivities, offering a fully biocompatible solution.
- Durability | Modern ceramic materials are strong enough for both front and back teeth, holding up to chewing forces with long-lasting reliability.
- Minimally Invasive | Thanks to their precision fit, ceramic crowns require less reshaping of your natural tooth.
When crafted with the right technology, ceramic crowns offer a superior restoration that supports both your oral health and your confidence.

Have More Questions About Our CEREC Technology or Same-Day Crown Process?
How long does a CEREC crown appointment take?
Most CEREC crown appointments take around two hours or less from start to finish. This includes scanning your tooth, designing the crown, milling it in-office, and placing it—all in a single visit.
Are CEREC crowns as durable as traditional crowns?
Yes. CEREC crowns are made from high-quality ceramic materials that are both strong and long-lasting. When cared for properly, they can last just as long as traditional crowns—often 10 to 15 years or more.
Will my CEREC crown look natural?
Absolutely. CEREC crowns are custom-designed to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth. They’re crafted from tooth-colored ceramic that blends seamlessly with your smile.
Can CEREC crowns be used for dental emergencies?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of same-day crowns is that they’re perfect for restoring broken or damaged teeth quickly. You can walk in with a damaged tooth and walk out the same day with a full restoration.
Is sedation available for same-day crown appointments?
Yes. If you experience dental anxiety or would simply prefer a more relaxed visit, Dr. Martin offers sedation options such as laughing gas or oral sedation, even for same-day crown appointments. Our goal is to make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.
How do I care for my CEREC crown after the appointment?
Care is simple—treat your crown like a natural tooth. Brush and floss daily, avoid chewing extremely hard objects (like ice), and keep up with regular dental checkups to ensure everything stays in great shape.
